- Red Cape Jumpsuit With V-Neck
Hi Darlings! Happy Tuesday. I wish I could say I made this jumpsuit but truth is I didn’t… I actually bought it last minute before heading to DC earlier this month because I forgot to pack something for that days events. I went to ZARA the day before my flight out of NY and saw this as I was walking out in disappointment from not having found anything. As soon as I saw it I prayed to the fitting fairies for mercy and off to the dressing room I went…Thank you fairies! it was like magic. I added a nude belt from Target because I needed to break up the red in the mid section a bit. I can tell you now that I purchased it knowing that i was going to take it home, inspect it and kick it off, LOL! The fabric is a gorgeous stretch crepe that drapes beautifully so I will need to find something very similar when I remake it. I wore simple nude platform pumps since you couldn’t see them anyway. THE JUMPSUIT can be found HERE / DVF Ring / Coach Sunnies / MK Watch #Crepe #jumpsuit #VNeck #zara
- DIY Belted Tunic + Pants Simplicity 1019
Hi Darlings! I know some of you are wondering where I was last week…I took an unexpected blogging break. Life has been a little crazy for me and although I am full of positive outlooks and always try to keep negativity far from my inner circle sometimes it just takes a toll on me. I don’t always share my personal life on the blog because some things are truly meant to be handled within your home… and making things public can sometimes make things more difficult. I just needed a personal mental break from all things and so I decided that I just wasn’t going to post and instead focus on getting other work related things done. I missed you guys! I always do when I am away for more than a day but I am back and loving my #OOTD…Okay, okay I may be a bit bias since it is my SIMPLICITY 1019 PATTERN (at your local, Joann, Walmart, Hobby Lobby and more) lol! The SEW-ALONG VIDEOS are now online, so if you had been waiting to make it along with me CLICK HERE. I used THIS striped ponte knit from Michael Levine Fabrics and a “denim look” stretchy knit for the pants. I have linked some more fabric options HERE for the Tunic and a few options for the pants HERE. *Make sure to use my online code “mimi10” for 10% off your fabric purchase* #Simplicity #MimiGPattern #DIY #stripes #tunic
- #TBT DIY White Pique Dress + Pattern Review
Hi Darlings! This is one of my favorite #DIY #Throwbacks that I have ever made. It is such a classy, fresh looking dress. I used a white pique fabric found HERE and they have a ton of colors! The dress pattern is a Maggy London for Butterick Pattern Review and Links below… Pattern Description: Butterick 6053 Lined dress has bias neck and sleeve binding, princess seams, fitted bodice, midriff, side pockets, hem band (cut on crosswise grain), cap sleeves and exposed back zipper. Top stitching. Separate pattern pieces included for A/B, C, D cup sizes. Fabric Used: I used a White Bermuda Pique HERE Pattern Sizing: I cut the size 8 and graded down the entire bodice. I also used the pieces for Cup A/B Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope? Yes, I think it does. Were the instructions easy to follow? They are easy and clear. There are a lot of pieces to cut (19 total) and it is a bit time consuming but well worth it. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I loved the shape of the dress and the style. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I did not make any changes aside from the fitting of the bodice but I did skip the top stitching because my fabric is textured and the top stitching was lost in the texture. If I make it again it will be with a fabric that will highlight the top stitching. Would you sew it again? Yes, I plan to make another. Would you recommend it to others? YES, it is a more intermediate pattern only because of the lining, bias binding, etc. but other than the time it takes, it is very clear.

- New Mimi G For Simplicity Fall Pattern
Hi Darlings, as you know I am in NYC this week but I had to post this! I was so excited to finally be able to share one of my new fall patterns for Simplicity. This coat and cape are amazing!! and I was dying to show you guys. I wanted to design something I could make out of a wool fabric for the winter and wear it with the cape but also wanted to have a modern trench that I could wear during spring without the cape since it can be made from several fabrics. I lined my cape in lace which I love! I saw it on a designer coat last year and thought that was really a great idea (pic below) My new fall patterns have already begun shipping to stores and of course will be available on the Mimi G Simplicity page HERE Here are some of the details during construction. The lace lining is my favorite detail!

- DIY Bell Bottom Pants + Pattern Review Burda 6966
Hi Darlings, I am actually on the road headed to LA but just before leaving I made these pants that I have been wanting to make for weeks. I LOVE THEM and will be making them at least three more times, lol. I need some in denim so those are probably next. These are from Burda Style Vintage 6966. The pattern itself is not difficult at all but picking the right fabric is crucial because you want something that will drape well with the flare if you do View A like I did. *Pattern Review Below* The top is an old buy from Forever 21 I think, I love how loose and flowing the whole look is but still really classic. Pattern Description: Misses Bell Bottom Pants Burda 6966 Pattern Sizing: I cut the 8 ( pattern has a lot of ease) Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, these pants are very simple, front and back darts, waistband with center back zipper. They sew up quickly once you get the fit you want. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love flares so you know I had to make these. Fabric Used: I used a stretch twill I had in my stash but any of THESE, THESE OR THESE will work great. (Use my code MIMI10 for 10% off, online on;y) Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: Just some basic fit adjustments and I added 2″ in length so I could wear the, with my highest heels. (I am only 5′ 4″ tall so I like the height)
