  • #TBT Post DIY Black On Black Look

Hi Darlings! Here is today’s #TBT post. I am on the road so I had to steal a little wifi from some remote town in the middle of no where just to post this, lol! The pants I have on are from Gertie’s pattern B5895 which I love. The crop top is self drafted but now you can make it using my Simplicity Pattern #1283 and just not do the turtleneck unless you want to of course. I love the fabric I used! it is so spongy for lack of a better word, lol and it feels really great. ML doesn’t have the fabric anymore but there is something similar HERE or THIS fabric would be cool too. • Little Leather Dress

Hi Darlings! Thank you so much for all the great comments on my design studio and closet. I really enjoy spending time in my space and so does my family, lol I love looking over and watching my kids sitting on the carpet or on the chaise watching TV while I work, there is no better moments than those. I thank you all so much for the support you guys show me…even the one or two unhappy folks who always have something negative to say, lol you make me relevant in your day so thanks for spending time on me 😉 I love you guys too because you remind me of why I am kind and generous to people. Never let anyone dull your sparkle. Todays look is a little lambskin leather dress I bought at Nordstrom’s Rack in NY a few months ago. It is such a cute dress to dress up and dress down that I had to have it. I cant wait to wear again with the new pair of motorcycle boots I bought! The jacket is a few seasons old from Zara and the heels are also old…I think from Bakers, not sure. I put together some options to get the look below including the moto boots. I am off to a meeting so I will see you tomorrow. #michaelkors #jacket #Leather #zara #Dress #motoboots

  • HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Hi Darlings, Happy Halloween! I couldn’t wait to show you guys these pics! We had a great time shooting them. Although we don’t usually do much for halloween I wanted to get dressed up this year. Last year I threw together a costume based on a super girl t-shirt I had and it was a hit.  This year we did the same thing…threw something together;  I didn’t want pay much for a costume that we would only be wearing for a short time so off we went to the thrift store. This was a lot of fun and the hubby was totally game, as usual. Both costumes came to $28 but the memory was priceless 😉 I wish you all a safe evening and I hope you enjoy the pics. #clowns #halloween #sad

  • Easy DIY Necklace Display

Hi Darlings, I almost forgot to share this quick and easy DIY necklace display. While putting together my closet I needed to find a way to hang my more delicate necklaces, and I didn’t want to just add them to wall hooks, peg boards, etc. I wanted to create some sort of wall art. I grabbed this canvas print I had in storage and got creative. Now the canvas print serves two purposes, wall art and display!  It was so super simple, so if you are interested I took some pics..enjoy! Grab a canvas print, a hammer and some nail heads Take a marker and make a dot 1/2″ apart and make sure you are nailing into the wood piece of the canvas (along the edge) hammer one nail head at a time until you get all the way across. Start hanging your necklaces making sure to balance the weight on the ends until they are all on. Once you are done hang it up! I added a nail head to each top corner too so I could hang other pieces too. Now when I look at it it’s not just pretty but functional and easy to grab and go. #crafty #painting #necklaces #wallart #DIY #canvas

  • Belted Poncho & Leggings

Hi Darlings, I hope you are having a great day. I am so stoked about all the things that have been going on behind the scenes. There is so much I can’t tell you about (darn contracts) but I know you will share in my excitement when I finally can share. Because of all the planning that has been going on I flew my assistant in for a few days to help me get things in order and plan out the calendar for 2015. I don’t know what I would do without her, she just gets it and keeps me on target, lol. I hated sending her home but since we work remotely so well it’s a bonus when I get to send for her and we spend a few days brainstorming. Part of the time she as here we spent doing some serious work…..at the mall, lol I picked up this amazing poncho at Forever 21 and the colors spoke to me. The lovely thing about this poncho is how lightweight it is so I was able to belt. It is so fun to wear because you can wear anything underneath and the poncho will add a funky vibe to it. I bought a bunch more so I plan to make a haul video tonight. As always anything I could link below I did and I will talk to you soon. xoxo FOREVER21 Poncho HERE or HERE / Jessica Simpson Heels (old) / Gap Leggings (option) HERE / Coach Bag (option) HERE / Sunnies (thrift Store) #jeweltones #poncho #forever21 #Leggings #coach #gap

  • THE GOODWIN HOME MAKEOVER: Dining Room

Hi Darlings, I hope you are planning to have a wonderful and productive week, I know I am! I am happy to say that i have more home decorating pics today. I have finished the dining room with the exception of two more paintings that have yet to arrive and a gorgeous glass bowl that I fell in love with for the hutch….yes I will show you pics as soon as they arrive. For now, this is what I have done to the dining room. I love clean lines, no fuss, clutter free spaces….much like my wardrobe. It must be functional but glam, lol. The furniture and accents came from several different places so I have listed them below. When it comes to house hunting, I often hear that it’s difficult for people to look behind the “styling” that’s done to some homes, or to look past the homeowners current furnishings. I walk into a space and see no furnishings, I focus only on the space I am looking at. When I viewed the house for the first time it was still furnished so although the decor was the complete opposite to what I would do, it gave me a great indication of proportions and furniture size. It allowed me to quickly access how much space I was working with and how their furnishings were using the space. Their style was more traditional  and carried a fall color scheme on the walls throughout the house. I am more of  jewel tone person and truly love all things grey, black and white which makes those combinations a win. Because I tend to change things up with the seasons I keep most of my main furniture pieces neutral in color so that I quickly change out my accessories and table accents for a whole new look….I use those items to add color to my space, allowing me to never really commit to one thing, and I can change decor without having to do a complete remodel each time. Here is a look at the room as we viewed it BEFORE we moved in: Some of the very first things you will notice is the wall color, carpet and chandelier. I have an ongoing love affair with grey so I knew after purchasing the dining set (info below) that I was going to carry the grey to the walls. I wanted to add depth to the room and adding the lighter stripe in the center of the room was a great way to accomplish that while adding a touch of elegance to the room. I had new carpet put in for a few reasons….I knew my wall color would be light through out the house so I went with a darker carpet to ground the rooms and also make it kid friendly, it is a lot harder to keep light carpets clean with kids and dirty carpets will break a room no matter how well it’s decorated. I also changed out the CHANDELIER to a more modern and clean style. Chandelier from Lowe’s / Paint Colors Olympic #D58-1 Thin Ice & Olympic #D58-3 Flagstone As soon as I saw the DINING SET I was in love. It was so sexy, clean lines, a modern 70’s vibe and it screamed simplistic glam. I purchased it online after seeing in LA. I like getting the best deal possible so after I saw it I took a pic on my phone of the manufacturer and style number. I went online did a quick search and found it on OVERSTOCK. They had the best listed price so I purchased immediately. #score I have found my new favorite store for all things decor! it’s called AT HOME and it’s amazing…I walked in and almost cried, LOL! I was able to find the paintings in the room, that amazing gold brushed mirror, candlesticks, the silk plant and the vases on the table. The distressed black cabinet is a total gem and added texture to the room. I love to mix new and old, polished and rustic and glam with comfort. Decorating a room is about expressing who you are and you are not one style, one look, one dimensional so use that to combine and play with colors and texture until you find you perfect blend. Cabinet was a find from AT HOME The white accents int he room add just the right amount of softness to the room and using the white flowers add a delicate touch. These amazing black chairs were perfect for the corners of the room, I was looking for black chairs to add to the black/white element that is through out the house but also to tie in the black cabinet. I spotted these babies in HOME GOODS and snatched them up quick, fast and in a hurry! The tailored chairs are just fantastic! The hubby and I are having such a great time decorating our home and he has a wonderful eye so we work great together and can bounce ideas off of each other. He enjoys the process and is a great handyman, it’s a win win! Can’t wait to show you more. #homedecor #remodel #style #grey #makeover #decor #dining #glam

  • My New Favorite Accessory

Hi Darlings, If you are anything like me you probably dislike wearing a bra! my issues have always been that I could “feel it” all day and more often than not it showed through my tee’s and or fitted tops/dresses. I couldn’t wait to get home so I could unhook that bad boy and feel relief, LOL! I have tried so many brands over the years…I have purchased inexpensive bras, expensive bras, fancy bras, etc. and they always did the same thing….made me feel uncomfortable. Now seeing as it would be totally inappropriate of me to walk around not wearing a bra, I have dealt with my personal bra fitting issues like I am sure many of you do. Undergarments were more about looking pretty in them than comfort for me, it was like an “accessory” that I picked out to match my outfit like a pair of earrings, but now it’s about both comfortable and pretty. When I started working on the “For Women Who Do” campaign with Vanity Fair Lingerie I got my hands on some life changing bras! okay, it didn’t change my life exactly, but it did open my eyes to several factors… I had not ever been properly fitted, and that alone made a huge difference for me when it came to comfort. I always felt as if the bra was to snug and if I went up a size it left a gap between my chest and the bra cup. After being fitted and wearing my first Vanity Fair Beautifully Smooth “Next To Nude” bra I was sold. Materials, contour and padding are essential to feeling good all day. After the Next to Nude bra I thought I had found the one and only bra I would ever wear, lol until they sent me the new Beautifully Smooth Invisible Lines Underwire Bra. The absolute 100% bonus to this bra is that I can’t see it under my clothes, ever! It has an innovative pad for an invisible neckline and has a concealed back design for a smooth look. I can confidently say that I have now been wearing several of their collections and they are all just as comfortable and easy to wear, especially during a long day. For more info and to do a little shopping visit their site HERE If you have not visited the #LiftTour bus in your city you may still have a chance. Click HERE for a list of the remaining cities through the end of October. Vanity Fair Lingerie teamed up with Dress for Success, an organization dedicated to promoting the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, career development tools and a network of support to uplift women everywhere! Through this partnership, Vanity Fair Lingerie has be traveling around the U.S. fitting women just like you for more shape and support. For every fitting they do, a brand new bra will be donated to Dress for Success. This has been a great campaign and I am so excited to have been a part of a program that is working so hard to uplift and motivate women everywhere! #vanityfair #lingerie #lifttour #undergarments #bras
