- DIY Dress + Pattern Review Burda 6729
Hi Darlings! I love this DIY Dress so much that I already made it again in a solid mustard color. This one is really simple to make although I don’t think anyone would think its as easy as it easy just by looking at it. I used a PRINTED RAYON KNIT I picked up at Michael Levine. My pattern review is below and make sure to use my code “MIMI45” if you purchase fabric at Michael Levine so you can save 10% DIY Dress/ Gifted Necklace (F21) / Steve Madden Heels Pattern Description: Burda 6729 Super easy top and dress Pattern Sizing: The smallest size is a 10 so I just cut that and took it in as I needed. Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes Were the instructions easy to follow? This is super easy. It sews up fast and it looks great. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I loved the gathered sides and the t-shirt look. Fabric Used: Rayon Knit Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I used the same fabric to make the ties instead of using cord as suggested. Would you sew it again? I already made a solid one, I just haven’t worn it yet. Would you recommend it to others? Yes!
- My Living Proof Experience
Hi Darlings! Soo….remember my recent visit to Boston where I mentioned a bit about why I was there and how excited I was? Well now I get to tell you all of the awesomeness I experienced. When I got a call about participating in a unique experience with Living Proof I was thrilled, mostly because my daughter Chastidy, as many of you know, is a cosmetologist and had just been telling me how much she liked this Living Proof brand and had started using it on her clients. I was excited for several reasons… First of all I was going on a trip to Boston! and second the idea of getting to meet the Living Proof team and experience a seriously educational behind-the-scenes look at the science behind the brand was far to amazing to pass up. I will say that after I told my daughter what I was going to be doing she was super jealous (awww, I brought her back some goodies tho) When I arrived at the Living Proof Lab I was greeted by the awesome team which included their Scientist Soo-Young who was brilliant, genuine and exuded a true love for what she does at Living Proof along with Eric Spengler the scientist who took us through the lab tour (more on that in a second). Honestly the entire team was amazing and you could tell that they took their mission seriously and were excited to show us around. I was personally selected (insert cheesy smile here) along with four other social media influencers who were sweet as pie. We all looked so different from one another which made the transformations so much fun. The girls (Bri of Design Love Fest, Keiko of Keiko Lynn, Cara of Maskcara and Sazan Hendrix of Sazan) and I were so ready to get the day started. Now I will be honest and say that I wasn’t sure what to expect during the trip and having known very little about the brand upon my arrival made the experience even more interesting because I was truly impressed by what I was learning. The personal lab tour from Soo-Young and Eric Spengler was one those moments in life where you are standing around a group of people looking at each other going…Ohhhh….ahhhhhh… light bulb moments for sure. It’s one thing to have a brand “tell you” what they do in commercials and advertisements but to have a brand “Show You” in person what they are truly about and the difference in their products is completely eye opening. You know I was dying to put these goggles on and walk into the lab, lol! Living Proof believes the answers are found in science and they believe a product should keep its promises and I can attest that both of those are very much true. After the lab tour we got to experience a one on one with Living Proof Stylist (and Jennifer Aniston’s bestie!!!!) Chris McMillian who is a master at what he does. I got to sit with him and Eric while they consulted on my hair and both agreed that my hair is fabulous LOL!! okay they really did say I had very healthy hair and that with the Curly Collection I could take my hair from really great to amazing and they were right. After Chris played with my hair, did a little shaping and cutting and styled it he gave me my hair care prescription. I have been using the entire The Living Proof Curl Collection since I got back home a few weeks ago and I started seeing a difference in my curl definition after abut 5 washes. If you follow the blog you know I always have a semi curl with a semi wave and the longer my hair gets the less curl I have…NOT ANYMORE! The curl conditioning wash and the curl defining styling cream are my top two fave’s followed by the leave in conditioner and the mousse. I mean seriously darlings look at these curls and shine! I had a really great time and left feeling really excited about what I had learned, how authentic the brand was and how much I couldn’t wait to share with all of you. If you want to discover the best products for your hair type you should check out their Product Selector Tool. I hope you enjoyed my recap and stay tuned because I have another super cool post coming soon 😉 I will leave you with two of my favorite things…this video of my tour at the Living Proof lab and of course what else would a bunch of influencers do when put in the same room together? Take a massive selfie xoxo

- 3 Step Skin Care With Clinique Follow Up
Hi Darlings,so as promised I am doing follow up on my initial thoughts after using the 3 step skin care system by Clinique. I have been a fan of the product for years but had not yet tried any of their skin care products so I was excited to get my hands (but really face) on it. I am sure you noticed I have been using the Lip Pop Colors from my last post…I love them! Before I get to the skin care I wanted to share the age defense BB Cream I have been using for the last few days. I like that it’s light weight and blends easily into my skin. The shade is good for now but I start to lighten up a bit during the winter months so I may need to change shades soon or blend it. Okay so first let me tell you about my favorite product…The Clarifying Lotion (a toner) It is so cooling and after I wash my face and use this I can still see it pulling dirt from my face…sheesh! I have tried other toners and for the most part I have had a good experience but sometimes they leave my face feeling dry. This one does not make my skin feel tight or dry after using it. I look forward to this step every morning and every night. So after I was my face with the liquid facial soap, I use my clarifying lotion and let my face air dry. I like that liquid facial soap because it’s pretty gentle on my skin. I have noticed in the last two weeks that my face has become less oily in my trouble areas. I always tend to get oily in my chin and nostrils but since starting this system I have had a lot less of it. The moisturizing lotion is light and goes on eaisly but for me its not enough by itself. My skin needs moisture and although I do love that it has SPF I also follow up with my super defense cream…now that baby is like magic in a jar! the two together really keep my face feeling plump and soft. I am excited to see what else I start to notice with longer use. Have you guys tried any Clinique products you love? I would love to know!

- Fit 6: My Athleta City Pants!
Hi Darlings, I have recently started posting about my fitness journey and how I have been trying to make it a regular part of my everyday life. I always envy folks who love going to the gym and actually enjoy eating healthy, LOL. I on the other hand don’t like the gym and enjoy eating badly so it takes a full on effort for me to get healthy and stay that way. As you may know from reading the blog I have a new office in Downtown Los Angeles so I have been really enjoying the outdoor walking I get to do since everything is within walking distance to me. I recently started going for morning jogs in the city and there is no better way to do than in my Athleta Fit 6 gear! I have had the pleasure of wearing and blogging about Athlete before but this time I got my hands on some extra goodies like the Lined City Jogger! I really love the quality of Athleta wear but I mostly love how easy it is to go from working out to every day life in the same amazing gear. I wore my Lined City Jogger to do some stretching and take a light jog in the morning. The pants are super soft and the lining feels AMAZING! After going for a light jog I had to meet Tieko for some shopping and chatting of course so I put on this gorgeous Passage Sweater Coat from Athleta, through on some sunglasses, earrings and I was ready for my shopping date. The Chi Tank is also one of my favorites because it is ultra lightweight and has unstinkable technology so I can wear it more and wash it less…I am so serious! One of my favorite things to do after going for a jog or taking a Pilates class is to visit my neighborhood juice stop and do a little work outdoors. The Aspire Ankle Pant is anther favorite of mine. It has great details like the front zipper pockets so my credit card and ID stay safe and the tapered leg that scrunches up. They are also featherweight you can almost forget you have pants on. My sweatshirt is the Studio CYA Sweatshirt that I purchase a size larger so I can wear it off my shoulder. I know for me working out in fashionable gear makes me feel better and keeps me looking great when I transition from the Pilates studio to meeting friends or running errands in the city. Athleta gives you the best of both world’s…function and fashion!
- DIY Vogue Top + Skinny Jeans
Hi Darlings, Happy Monday! I had a super productive weekend and I am ready for this week. I can’t believe that this Friday I will be in NY again for my final stop of the Passion to Profit Tour. It has been amazing and I love that I am ending in one of my favorite cities! We are completely sold out and over sold and with the addition of the beautiful Budgetnista the attendees are in for a real treat. I have a ton to do before leaving this week but I am hoping to carve out a little time for some sewing. Today’s DIY top is actually one I have made before HERE but when I found this remnant piece of fabric I knew I wanted to make myself another one of these tops…Now I can retire the pattern lol! (pattern review below) My necklace is a gift from my doll Tieko ( I think it’s from F21) and my booties are Steve Madden…My sunnies are probably my favorite pair from Tom Ford. Pattern Description: V8977 View C Very loose-fitting top has front pleats, shaped hemline, wrong side shows on back hemline, and back button Pattern Sizing: I cut the x-small (it is very loose fitting and has a ton of ease) Fabric Used: Rayon Blend Print Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes I think it does. Were the instructions easy to follow? This is such a great pull over top to make. It’s fast and easy to make. The buttons are sewn on so there are no actual buttonholes needed. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the flowy look, the back, and the buttons. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I did not make any. Would you sew it again? Yes I see a few more in my future Would you recommend it to others? Yes!
