- CONFERENCE 2017 RECAP (PIC HEAVY)
HI DARLINGS! I am so thankful for every single person who helps bring this conference to life every year. We work on this for eight months out of the year, and it is all consuming the last three months leading up to the big day. This year we almost didn’t get pics to recap, LOL we were so busy with all the classes, breakouts, lunch, arrangements, field trips, off-site events that we forgot to book our photographer. Thanks to Maddie of MADALYNNE, who was also an instructor this year and professional photographer we have pics!! Thanks Maddie for sharing. The registration, set up and fashion show were all amazing and ran smoother than ever before thanks to ROSY, BRITTANY, ANITA, MARY-ALICE, CANDICE and RUQAYYAH. We had an incredible three days without any hiccups, and I must thank my right hand April for always keeping things in order. I couldn’t have gotten through the year without NORRIS who since joining my staff has done every role imaginable lol. To every instructor who so generously gives of their time to teach and to all my wonderful sponsors who without fail are always in line to support me. Thank you BABYLOCK, SIMPLICITY, FABRIC.COM, SPOONFLOWER, THE FABRIC STORE, MICHAEL LEVINE, FISKARS, ANDOVER, SEWINGPORTFOLIOS.COM and DRITZ Because the fashion show had over 84 submissions, we did not photograph them all, but I will be sharing pics on my INSTAGRAM of the winner, Nola who made a gorgeous denim jumpsuit. We also had the pleasure of my mom “Momma G” walk the runway for fun, lol Until next time my loves!
- NEW MIMI G PRE-FALL PATTERNS! SIMPLICITY 8426 + 8427
HI DARLINGS! I feel like I have been gone forever but you all know that every year starting in late May my posts are not as frequent because the summer conference takes up all our time but it is over now and I am back! I will have recap pics of the conference for you tomorrow but today I had to share my latest SIMPLICITY PRE-FALL PATTERNS. I designed two new patterns for pre-fall and I am so excited because one of them is my first men’s pattern! I had been wanting to design a new men’s pattern for a long time so I asked Norris if he would like to help design it. I knew he would have insight on how a classic men’s button up shirt should be designed and ultimately fit so with his help we launched MIMI G STYLE MEN. Both the WOMEN’S JUMPSUIT #8426 and the MENS SHIRT #8427 are available online and will have a step-by-step sew along’s that will be available on the Simplicity YouTube channel this week The first pattern is my favorite jumpsuit to date that I have designed. I love this pattern!! It has so many options when it comes to fabric choices, color-blocking, and mixing textures. You could even shorten the hem and make them Capri length for sandals this summer. Both patterns should be arriving in stores now so make sure you get them before they get back ordered. Also, make sure to check out NORRIS for a few more pictures of the men’s shirt pattern
