HI DARLINGS! Happy New Year. This is my first post of 2018, and I can tell you now that this year is going to be AHHHHMAZING! HI DARLINGS! OKAY OKAY OKAY….Here is the full look of my DIY Tracksuit. This tracksuit has been the talk of the town, lol. I saw a jacket similar on ASOS but I wanted to add more interest and color and I wanted to make matching trackpants so I pulled out a basic bomber pattern and played witH how I wanted my colorblocking. I then traced the new pattern pieces after making modifications, added seam allowances and started sewing the pieces togther to create the chevron you see. I used an old pair of leggings to create my drop crotch pants, I had made some similar before so these were easy. I just added the side colorblocking and zipper. The entire suit is made from double knits and a knit lining of this awesome floral print and I used rib knit for the cuffs and waistband. I wore it when I interviewed Gwen. HI DARLINGS! I can’t begin to tell you what an amazing day I had yesterday. I will post pics on Monday with my full look but if you follow me on INSTAGRAM or FACEBOOK you know I sat down with GWEN STEFANI to chat about all things holiday in her world. I had the most wonderful time with her. You can still catch the replay on my FACEBOOK PAGE and I am hoping on Monday I can upload the video to the blog. Okay on to the buffalo plaid bomber! I love this jacket so much. First of all the pattern is M7636 is easy to follow, has great details and I will be making it again. I decided to use a heather grey double knit for the cuffs and collar, it added more interest. My buffalo plaid flannel fabric is from LA FINCH FABRICS which you can find HERE. This fabric is so soft and yummy and it worked perfectly for this pattern. It’s bright red and black plaid is so eye catching and everyone needs a buffalo plaid jacket in their closet. I made a coat from a wool buffalo plaid in January of last year and posted it HERE I wore the jacket with my favorite ripped jeans, H&M earrings, Chanel sunglasses, AIR JORDAN RETRO 4 and a plain white tee. HI DARLINGS! Happy Wednesday. I have been working like a crazy person trying to get all these different projects wrangled in before the new year. I am hoping to take a “blogging” vacation in December, so I need to get all things squared away. I also have been making time to sew even if it’s just a few quick projects like the one below. This BURDA 6475 pattern was a quick little project. I didn’t want to make it out of denim or knit, so I pulled out this colorful tweed fabric I have had in my stash for some time. It reminds me of candy, lol. I added buttons to the flaps and shortened it a bit, I planned on wearing it as a dress, but you know… I eyeballed it, and it ended up too short, LOL!!!! so now it’s a top. I sm wearing my CHENILLE LEGGINGS from TARGET which I am obsessed with at the moment. They are soft, thick and warm. HI DARLINGS! It’s a beautiful day in LA today. I am feeling refreshed and inspired and rested. I took the last few days off and had a wonderful time with my family. I am headed to my machine after this post, so I can get some Christmas sewing in and then I am taking myself to the gym to work off some these carbs, lol.
