- DIY WRAP DRESS USING THE TRUE BIAS CALVIN PATTERN
HI DARLINGS! This #calvindress by TRUE BIAS is awesome! I made it several weeks ago but had not yet taken pics, I figure I better take them before it gets colder although this will look great with a fitted turtleneck too for fall. The pattern is a PDF and it is a pretty simple sew except for the fact that if you are making the bias tape yourself it can take a minute and applying it takes a bit of time too. Aside from that, it is pretty straightforward. I used a great silky print I picked up at MOOD FABRICS last year and had been holding on to it for just the right dress, it was the end of the bolt so I am so glad I was able to snatch it up. I plan to make this again for sure. I also loved the bra start style that allows you to adjust the straps and the curve of the bodice sits really comfortably without the worry of gaping. THE LOOK I wire simple jewelry and heels, I think I may style this again for fall and post another look.
- MY SIMPLICITY #9182 TOP SEW-ALONG AND PICS
HI DARLINGS! Today is sew-along day of my SIMPLICITY #9182 PATTERN. I just posted the TOP SEW-ALONG on my YOUTUBE CHANNEL. I decided to use denim from my stash for the sew-along because I have been wanting a denim skirt for a long time now. The top is just a few pieces and I walk you through it as we sew-together. If you are a total newbie or need help you can check out SEWITACADEMY.COM and learn to sew. THE LOOK My favorite thing to wear is a great pair of jeans and a t-shirt but when you want to kick it up a notch simply add a great sweater top and heels. This is an easy look for anyone to pull off. The JEANS are a favorite find at ZARA some months ago. They are literally my most worn pair of jeans! My heels are from STEVE MADDEN from some time ago but HERE is a nice option.
- MY SIMPLICITY #9182 SKIRT SEW-ALONG AND PICS
HI DARLINGS! Today is sew-along day of my SIMPLICITY #9182 PATTERN. I just posted the SKIRT SEW-ALONG VIEW C on my YOUTUBE CHANNEL. I decided to use denim from my stash for the sew-along because I have been wanting a denim skirt for a long time now. The skirt is a just a few pieces and walk you through it as we sew-together. If you are a total newbie or need help you can check out SEWITACADEMY.COM and learn to learn to sew. THE LOOK I love classic looks like denim and white or tan/camel color tops and pants. I plan to make several items for fall with that classic color way. The denim skirt is classic in itself and pairing it with a fitted tan sweater and neutral heels gives the look a chic feel. I wore my signature pin which I had not been able to find lol and some gold earrings.
- DIY PIETRA PANTS AND OGDEN CAMI
HI DARLINGS! Happy Tuesday. First, let me say thank you for all the love on my latest SIMPLICITY FALL PATTERNS. If you missed those posts you can read them HERE & HERE. I can’t wait to see you guys making them and sharing them on social, please make sure to tag me so we can share your pics. Okay now on to these PDF patterns, the pants are the PIETRA PANTS by CLOSET CORE and the OGDEN CAMI by TRUE BIAS. Both great patterns and I look forward to making them again, I have made the cami several times but the pants are a first. I like the look but I did have to make some adjustments. I think the fabric I used wasn’t the greatest for these because for my body shape they n need to be a bit more fitted and this is a woven non-stretch rayon that needs to fall away from the body a bit. I made them work but f I make it again I will use something with a bit of stretch and a bit more weight. THE LOOK

- DIY SLIP DRESS WITH MOTO JACKET LOOK
HI DARLINGS! I am keeping it short and sweet today because this week is very busy for me. I am doing something fun and exciting that I will share with you guys soon. Today however I wanted to share this second look of me in the SICILY SLIP DRESS by MASIN which is my all-time favorite slip dress pattern. I plan to make it a lot! If you missed the first post I did of this dress you can click HERE. The fabric is from SEWING STUDIO but it’s been a while so I am not sure it’s available. I made no modifications to this pattern aside from shortening it about 1″ at the hem. I decided to rock it with my Moto jacket and sneakers which is how I would most often wear it. I could also wear it with a denim jacket or a turtleneck in the fall. THE LOOK
- DIY SLIP DRESS USING THE SICILY PATTERN BY MASIN
HI DARLINGS! Okay, this dress is fantabulous and I will be making it at least another fifty-eleven times LOL! This SLIP DRESS pattern by MASIN is so great and flattering and the fit and finishings, like the french seams, for it are perfect. The pattern itself comes together quickly after printing and taping (It is a PDF) and although could be a bit time consuming this one has very little pieces because the front-facing is built into the pattern, so great. Although it does take a bit of time to accurately cut a pattern piece on the bias it is always well worth the time and effort. I have some tips on cutting and sewing on the bias HERE or you can watch below at the end of the post. FABRIC: I grabbed this beauty at SEWINGSTUDIO.COM but I don’t think it is still available. ADJUSTMENTS: None really, I just shortened it by 1” THE LOOK

- DIY MY ANIMAL PRINT DRESS USING #M8084
HI DARLINGS! I know, I know… Who Dis? LOL I am loving my new look these past few weeks. It has been a great way for me to avoid chopping my hair back off since I am really trying to grow it out this time. Let’s see I can do it this time! Ok now on to my dress. This is MCCALL #8084 which so many makers have been sewing up. I am late to the game on this one because I have been busy with some development deals that I am excited to share soon. I had not sewn in a while so I wanted something simple to get back into it. This is a great easy to sew pattern. The fabric is from JOANN and it drapes really nicely, I wanted to link to it but couldn’t find it online. I am hoping to make the short version too. We will see, maybe I will do a sew-along. THE LOOK
- BACK TO SCHOOL SHOPPING
HI DARLINGS! It’s that time again for many of us, time for back to school shopping! Over the last few years, you guys have seen me share our back to school finds at Walmart which have included supplies, household items, and of course some great Walmart fashion looks. I can always rely on Walmart for great prices and fashion items the kids will rock at home and at school. Things are different this year as we are all very aware of and although our 17 year old has been homeschooled since grade school and is now a senior she still very much looks forward to shopping for what she calls her “home school style” Ha! She loves her Champion leggings and rainbow Champion logo T-shirt. Imani is very creative so as an artist she always goes for the bright white sneakers like these Keds that she can paint and make her own. She loves being comfortable but cute, as she likes to say. My son is heading back to public school in August with many precautions set in place, but his style and comfort will not be compromised, lol. He has already asked me to make him masks to match his looks. Bubby is also very active and plays basketball so he has no trouble finding great athletic wear at Walmart like this three-piece jogger set he loves. His favorite color is red if you couldn’t tell, so he picked this Champion backpack. Keeping the kids on track can be a task in itself so with Imani being homeschooled she keeps a daily planner where she can keep track of her assignments and due dates. Walmart has a ton of great planners and colorful note pads at great prices! No matter what your situation is this school year it is great to know that there is one place you can go to get great fashion, supplies, and household items for the entire family.
