  • DIY Dress + Leopard Heeled Sandals

Hi Darlings! Today’s look is DIY but an old one, I made and reviewed this dress in 2012, and I have only worn it once. I thought I had given the dress away long ago, but I must have really liked it and decided to keep it. I try to recycle my clothing as much as possible by giving it to charity, the girls at church, friends, but now and then I make something that I must keep. How good are you guys at purging? • My Fav Cobalt Blue Heels + Jeans

Hi Darlings, When I was in Atlanta the first time Adrienne, and I hit the mall (of course), and I saw these Enzio shoes that I had to have! The color os amazing and they are just super sexy to me. Now usually I wear very tall heels (5+ inches) but these work great with pants and especially denim. I am keeping it clean and fresh today with a classic white shirt. • DIY Floral Knit Dress

Hi Darlings! I am traveling again this week so I have been trying to put things in order before leaving. I was going through my closet and found this dress! I made almost two years ago. I LOVE this dress because the fabric is just so divine! as a matter of fact if you live in Atlanta there is a fabric store called Fine Fabrics and they had a few rolls of this fabric when I was last there. Mine came from Gorgeous Fabrics at the time. I love the print because it works all year round. Some floral patterns are sometimes seasonal but this particular floral pattern has worked for me during every season. I hadn’t worn it since I was last photographed in it so I thought I would pull it out and wear it again with different shoes, keeping it really simple. The original pattern review for this dress can be found HERE My shoes are from Zara #DIY #Dress #Floral #nudeshoe

  • DIY Flounce Dress + Pattern Review B5985

Hi Darlings! I am running a little late with today’s post because I woke up a little under the weather and had a slow start to my day. I also made a very big decision today and so my mind has been in a million places (a wonderful decision). I am also so excited to announce that I am already SOLD OUT! for the 3rd Annual Mimi G Sewing, Fashion & Style Conference 2014! In less than 3 days we are not only sold out but OVER SOLD so I am in the midst of getting a larger space, lol! Today’s dress has been in the making for some time but I just hadn’t gotten around to finishing it. The fabric is part of that same fabric I used for the Lil Green Dress and my Leggings/ Workout Tutorial. It is very similar to a neoprene which I have been using for months before it hit the runways, it is such a fun fabric to work with and very forgiving! DIY Dress Pattern HERE / Fabric HERE / Steve Madden Heels HERE (on sale) Pattern Description: B5985 (on sale for $2.99 right now) Pattern Sizing: I cut the smallest size which is a 6 but it was still huge before I did any fit adjustments. Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done? Yes Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, this dress is really simple to put together. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I did not like the pattern envelope but I could see beyond it so I figured I would give it a shot. Fabric Used: Athletic Spandex (very similar to neoprene) found HERE **Use code PRESIDENT20 for 20% OFF) Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I had to grade it down a significant amount. I removed almost 4″ of ease in the skirt and 2.5″ of ease on the bodice. I shortened view A by 4″ because the longer below the knee was not a good look for me. Would you sew it again? No I only need of these but it is a nice and easy dress to make. #leopard #butterick #flounce #5985 #DIY

  • 1 Skirt 3 Looks! DIY Pencil Skirt

Hi Darlings! You guys know that my style changes depending on my mood, as most people. So I thought I would do a 3 look post to show how my look can vary depending on my mood and how easy it is to do with on simple black pencil skirt that you can make yourself in under an hour! If you ever wanted to learn to sew and found it to be confusing, boring or just daunting you should FIRST try my FREE Pencil Skirt Tutorial!! This is the easiest, fastest and most gratifying DIY you can do. I walk you through all the steps so you end up with the most useful item in a woman’s closet….the pencil skirt. At the bottom of the post you will find the Step by Step video and original post! My crop top Forever 21 and is currently on sale for $10.99 HERE / Shoes are Steve Madden HERE Look #1 Sassy! I love high waist skirts and crop tops, they have a very slimming effect because they both meet at the smallest part of the waist making the eye focus at the center of your body. The crop top gets a bad wrap but in reality if worn correctly can work for both slim women as well as plus size women and everything in between. If you are more comfortable you can always wear it with a nice button down or long t-shirt underneath like Adrienne did with THIS look. My Denim Top is from the GAP HERE / My shoes are Steve Madden HERE Look #2 Causally Dressy This is the easiest look to pull off because it has two of my favorite things, a pencil skirt and denim shirt. The possibilities of this look is endless. You can wear ANY shoe you want because this is a neutral as it gets. You can add pops of color, funky, classy or dressy accessories, change or add a bag for texture, color or fun and you can even throw on some funky sneakers and work it out! Grateful Dead T-shirt (courtesy of my daughter) / Steve Madden Shoes HERE Look #3 “Just Kicking It” This I think is the most “I am so effortless with my style” look inspired by my daughter. It shows that you can pair almost anything with a pencil skirt to get a chic and effortless look. Adding  funky heels and sunnies pulls the look together and keeps it looking cool. I can always wear a t-shirt and pencil skirt as long as I have on heels.! lol HERE is the original post and below is the STEP BY STEP VIDEO! #DIY #pencilskirt #style #tips
