  • #TBT DIY Mini Regal Skirt

Hi Darlings, Happy Thursday! this #TBT  look was inspired by a pinterest pin I saw of Reuben Reuel’s collection De-Mes’Tiks and since then I had been on the hunt for African Wax Prints. I made the skirt the same way I made the Regal Maxi Skirt which is my most popular TUTORIAL. It’s so easy to understand, follow along and can be made for any size and any length you want. The sweater is from H&M from several seasons ago and it is probably my favorite sweater. The nude heels are also old and from Steve Madden. I want to leave you with two awesome bits of news…tomorrow I post a new Mimi G 4 Michael Levine Tutorial and on Monday I am posting a new Mimi G Style tutorial! I hope you have a blessed day Darlings…xoxo REGAL MAXI TUTORIAL ON SALE HERE DIY Skirt (Tutorial) ON SALE HERE / H&M Gold Sweater (old)  / Steve Madden Heels (old) / J. • The free feeling of jumping in crisp waters

Hi Darlings, I don’t know about you but my favorite time of the year is summer! There is something about the sun, warmth, crisp waters and free feeling of relaxation that just makes me happy. Glade sent me their “Jump In Crisp Waters” candle and the smell is intoxicating! it makes me want to put on my swimsuit and lay out in the sun, lol. The smell is is like taking a dip into the refreshing scents of watery melon, leafy dewdrop greens and cyclamen. My favorite memories as a child were of my mom and I laying in the sand and enjoying the smell of summer so when I was asked to create a tablescape inspired by the refreshing smell of my Glade candle so I was so excited that I jumped in my car and went to my local craft store to get busy! Here is my “Jump In Crisp Waters” inspired table. It’s so fun, so welcoming and makes you want to kick your heels up and free yourself of your day! SUPPLIES: I decided to use some craft store items so I bought some sea shells, sand, ceramic pieces, netting and some mason jars. I pulled out my summer plates, cups and napkins. I decided to buy two colors of sand so that I could create center pieces with the mason jars. STEP ONE: Once I had all my supplies in place I started by laying out the netting on the dining table and I placed some saran wrap underneath to catch the sand. STEP TWO: I filled the mason jars with sand and layered the colors. Then I topped off the jars with sea shells and pebbles. STEP THREE: I then added my main pieces to the table so I could add around them and balance the table. STEP FOUR: I added my sand to the center of the table and then placed my larger seas shells around the mason jars and center of the table. I added my plates and cups. STEP FIVE: I found these knotted napkin rings which were perfect. I pinched the center of my napkins and simply pulled the ring through. STEP SIX: Place your napkins on the plates and mix match the colors for interest. Once it was done I added my Glade candle to the middle of my table. I love walking into my home and being swept away by the refreshing scent of my Glade candle warmer. My entire house smells like a lakeside getaway.

  • DIY SLEEVELESS JUMPSUIT + PR V9075

Hi Darlings, Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend and for my mom’s, I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day. I spent most of my day working, lol and since  I am traveling today I am keeping this post a tad bit short. I made this awesome jumper again, but sleeveless this time (PREVIOUS POST HERE) I really love that at first glance it looks like a dress but it’s in fact a jumpsuit. This fabric is a gorgeous rayon I got HERE but I think this color-way is sold out…HERE is another option as well as THIS one and THIS one. I love this pattern so much and if you missed my first review on it I posted it again below. Make sure you use my DISCOUNT CODE  act checkout to get 10% off your purchase “MIMI10” DIY Jumpsuit (Pattern and info below) / Steve Madden White Heels (old) Pattern Description: Misses Jumpsuit Vogue 9075 Pattern Sizing: I cut the 6 Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, this is a no fuss pattern. It sewed up quickly and the princess seams on the bodice make it easy to fit since I always end up needing to make a small bust adjustment. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love a jumpsuit and I love culottes so this was a win win. Fabric Used: I used a rayon print I found in LA. HERE are some cool rayon prints that will work great. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I made a slight adjustment to my bust and I added to the crotch because I made them and found them to be a tad “choking” so I took it apart at the waist and ended up only using a 1/4″ seam allowance so I had some more room. I suggest adding at least an 1″ to the crotch. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? YES!!! and Yes!!!!
