- DIY DENIM SKIRT + PATTERN REVIEW BURDA 6796
Hi Darlings, I hope you are having a good week and are looking forward to the weekend. I wasnât going to post today and tomorrow because we are doing some updates to the back end of the site and its been going down on and off for the last few days but I figured I would post and hope everyone can see it, lol. This DIY skirt was a fun project because I wanted to make something simple since I was short on sewing time last week and since this had been sitting in my studio waiting to be made I took advantage of this stretch denim in my stash. My pattern review and optional fabric links below đ OUTFIT DETAILS: DIY Skirt, Forever 21 Sweater (old) Steve Madden Heels HERE, Vintage Sunnies Pattern Sizing: The smallest pattern size is a 10 so I cut it but had to grade down quite a bit because it was huge. Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, this is a no fuss pattern. It sewed up quickly  and the fly from for this is easy to understand if youâre a newbie. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love a good denim skirt. Fabric Used: I used a stretch denim in an olive color. HERE are a ton of stretch denims you can use. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None. Would you sew it again? Yes Would you recommend it to others? Yes BURDA 6796 4.9WINNER EASE OF SEWING PATTERN INSTRUCTIONS FITTING EASE
- TUESDAY TIPS: DIY POCKET DESIGN
Hi Darlings, Â I get asked a lot about posting tips, tricks and design elements so I thought I would start a âTuesday Tipâ edition to the blog. I am not sure what every week will be about but I will be sharing either a tip, a trick or a design element you can try like the DIY Step-by-Step for the pocket below. I saw this style pocket on a $150 jacket and thought oh that looks easy, lol so I thought I would give you a pocket design you can add to a jacket, skirt or dress pattern to add a little flare. xoxo
- DIY Dress That Almost Didnât Make It!
Hi Darlings! Happy Monday to you all. Okay you know how I say that every season I clear my closet and really only keep items that I know I canât replicate or was made from a fabric I truly loved? Well this dress is going to be one of those items I make that I will NEVER GET RID OF! Not because I canât find the fabric again but because this baby almost didnât make it. Ugh! even after 27 years of sewing I still have moments where I want to ball up the project and throw in the trash! Here is what happen⌠So if you look at the pattern envelope below you will notice that the front band stops below the waist (at the crotch) because the band ends you have to cut slits into the fabric at the CF to fit the band and conceal the raw edge⌠well I cut too far and after about an hour of trying to rescue it I got it to a place where I felt it would look ok so I kept going. Pattern Sizing: I cut the 8 Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? YesâŚwell sort of, lol Were the instructions easy to follow? Considering the amount of pieces and design elements it is pretty easy to follow. I usually do my own construction techniques for collars but this worked really well. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the shape and the front bodice inserts. Fabric Used: I used an amazing crepe inner yellow and emerald green (fabric video haul HERE) Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: LOL, read above. Would you sew it again? YES! Would you recommend it to others? YES!!! and Yes!!!! VOGUE 9077 4.7WINNER (WITH MODIFICATIONS) EASE OF SEWING EASE OF INSTRUCTIONS DESIGN FINISHED FIT #9077 #sewing #vogue #Dress #neon

- DIY Red Pants Suit + Pattern Review S8058
Hi Darlings, I LOVE THIS PATTERN!!!!!! Okay this CYNTHIA ROWLEY #8058 for Simplicity is EVERYTHING. The pattern review is below but I just had to say that aside from MY SIMPLICITY patterns I always look forward to the release of Cynthiaâs designs. I decided to make it in  RED PONTE because I love the way red looks on me and I figure why not stand out like a stop sign, lol. If you donât have this pattern go get it! The PONTE I used was great weight which worked perfectly to hold the shape of the jacket. Pattern Sizing: I cut the 8 for the jacket and a 10 for the pants Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, this is a no fuss pattern, it looks like it could be but it comes together nicely and the only thing that you will need to do outside of the usual is make a bound buttonhole (but you could just make a sewing machine buttonhole too I guess. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the shape of the jacket and you know I LOVE a wide leg pant đ Fabric Used: I used this great RED PONTE Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None, I didnât have to make any adjustments aside from my usual fitting tweaks. - MATTRESS SHOPPING 101: MY NEW BED!
Hi Darlings! Since I began collaborating with Sleep NumberÂŽ I have learned so much about my health in relation to getting better sleep. I have tested different sleeping habits, I have documented a 30 day âGet better sleepâ challenge and now after learning so much about the Sleep NumberÂŽ beds (I could probably be a sales rep at this point) I am doing it⌠I am getting myself a new mattress (can you hear me rejoicing?) So letâs be honest here, I had to really think about this because just like any large purchase you make for your home you know that itâs an investment and itâs going to be with you for a long time so you MUST make the right choice. Having had so much one on one time with the awesome sales rep at my local store I narrowed my choices down to the m7 and the i8. Wear comfy clothes⌠if I could have shown up in my jammies I would have, LOL! Lay down on each and every mattress you are considering. Turn over and lay the way you normally do when falling asleep. Make sure you tell your sales rep what you DONâT like about your current mattress. If you have to consider a partner or spouse when purchasing, make sure they come with you! HERE is a recent survey that has really interesting stats about how much sleep we actually getâŚthey even have a âby stateâ breakdown.

- My Bedtime âME TIMEâ Routine
Hi Darlings! I know that as women and moms we often forget to STOP, breath and enjoy some alone time but we need it! It keeps our minds and bodies balanced so I try my best to set aside time for myself. I have been using Honest Co. products from some time now and I love how gentle they are on my body and my kidâs bodies too. When they released their new additional scent options (sweet orange vanilla, dreamy lavender, apricot kiss, scent free) I had to give them a try. I also thought it would be cool to share my nightly âME TIMEâ routine which I try to do as often as possible once the day ends and the kiddies are tucked away for the night.
