  • THE JESSICA PATTERN MODIFIED INTO A MAXI

HI DARLINGS! Happy Monday, I hope you all had a great weekend. I spent most of it running errands and playing catch up with life. I also had to shoot pics for my 2018 Pre-Spring Simplicity Patterns, crazy how far ahead we work, lol. So today’s dress is another modification of my PDF PATTERN which I posted about HERE and then modified it as a top HERE too. This is THE JESSICA pattern and you can find this pattern along with the other PDF patterns HERE. The only thing I did was add length to the skirt portion of the pattern. Easy peasy! • GINGHAM SKIRT WORN AS A DRESS

HI DARLINGS! So last month when ZARA had their big sale I picked up a few things including this skirt. When I got home to try it on, because I was lazy at the store and didn’t do it there, lol I pulled it on and after I got to my chest I thought “I bet this would be a cute dress” LOL!! so that is how I wore it. I love it as a skirt too but it’s such a bonus that I can wear it as both. I wore my CLEAR STEVE MADDEN SHOES I bought earlier this year but had yet to wear them. They are super comfy and work with anything… Ummm cuz you can’t see them, lol! I hope you all have a great weekend and be safe. BTW, my hair is getting so long! I sorta am obsessed with it. • #TBT PENCIL SKIRT TUTORIAL + SKIRT WORN THREE WAYS

HI DARLINGS! I thought I would post some #TBT pics from one of my favorite FREEBIE TUTORIALS from back in the day 😉 This is a super easy, perfect for newbies sorta project. A few years back I posted “Three ways to style your pencil skirt” so I am reposting those pics today for you. Also, I have gotten so many requests to do a video on my “compression mesh” that I build into my dresses and skirts to avoid having to wear Spanx all the time so I will be posting that video next week using this skirt as an example. You can watch the original STEP-BY-STEP VIDEO TUTORIAL HERE SaveSave

It has a lot of possibilities! SaveSave SaveSave

  • VELVET CAMI AND DIY RUFFLE WRAP SKIRT + PATTERN REVIEW #M7606

HI DARLINGS! I couldn’t wait to wear this skirt. We featured this M7606 skirt in the July/August issue of SEW SEW DEF and I knew I had to make it asap. I love a great wrap skirt and I love ruffles! I also had this really great velvet cami I picked up H&M this summer and I had yet to wear it. Don’t you love when you have something in your closet that just fits perfectly?! REVIEW: The pattern comes together great, I added another 20″ to the ruffle pattern piece so I could get more gathers but aside from that I did not do any further modifications. The pattern has the option of omitting the ruffle but I think it adds a flirty fun aspect to the skirt. The fabric I used is a poly blend from MICHAEL LEVINE #sewing #pattern #patterns #Floral #florals #mccall #michaellevine #patternreview #DIY #skirt #Maxi

  • NEW MIMI G FOR SIMPLICITY FALL PATTERNS

HI DARLINGS! I am so excited to post my NEW PATTERNS this is my favorite SIMPLICITY PATTERNS yet, Yes, I know I said that last month with my PRE-FALL patterns, LOL! I have two NEW fall patterns and I will share the other one tomorrow, today it’s all about this gorgeous coat and dress pattern. Every time I go looking for a great coat pattern I can never find one that has the look I want so I designed one. The great thing about this coat is that you can make it of a lightweight fabric and wear it as a trench or a lightweight coat if you live in warmer climates. The coat has such great details including the large oversized collar! The dress is also a winner! I wanted a low back neckline and a sexy silhouette. I love the coat and dress in the same fabric because it looks so chic and runway ready. I already have plans for an off white winter look. As usual, the sew-along will be up soon to help you construct both the jacket and the coat! SaveSaveSaveSave

  • PEPLUM BUTTON UP TOP + PDF PATTERN MODIFICATION

HI DARLINGS! I told you yesterday that I was excited about this pattern and I really have made it about 5 times already, including modifications like this one! This pattern was so well received yesterday and I am thrilled to know you guys love it. I wanted to show how easy it is to go from dress to peplum top. It’s perfect for so many fabrics and it’s such an easy sew. This modification is uber simple, I measured down 13″ from the skirt waistline and cut a new pattern piece for the skirt portions. Then just sew it up using the instructions the same way, the only difference is the skirt portion is shorter and I did not add the pockets. If you are new to PDF patterns you can check out THIS video as a guide to printing, taping and cutting. You also get a print shop copy which you can take to a local printer. You can also use online sources that print PDF patterns inexpensively like PDFPlotting.com and Blueprintsprinting.com This pattern is a collaboration between Mimi G style and Sew Sew Def Patterns and can be purchased HERE. The pattern is sized XXS-2XL and details with screenshots of the pattern can be found HERE. We also have a new Men’s pattern which can be seen HERE CLICK HERE TO PURCHASE PDF PATTERN for a STEP-BY-STEP SEW ALONG click HERE.
