  • PUFF SLEEVE BODYCON DRESS + FREEBIE TUTORIAL TOMORROW!

HI DARLINGS! I am so happy that I have been able to stay on schedule with posting two videos a week on my YOUTUBE CHANNEL. I post a weekly vlog on Wednesdays and on Saturdays I post either fabric hauls, pattern hacks of tutorials. Tomorrow I am going to publish the STEP-BY-STEP TUTORIAL on how to to use any basic t-shirt pattern you have to create this puff sleeve dress. I am also showing you how to pattern hack a sleeve. I am thinking of doing a series of pattern hack tutorials, whatcha think? Make sure to subscribe to my CHANNEL so you don’t miss a thing! If you want to get ready to sew with me tomorrow you can go ahead and grab some fabric and pull out a t-shirt pattern you have on hand. PATTERN: I am using the t-shirt pattern in my SIMPLICITY 8177 but you can use any t-shirt pattern you may have. FABRIC: I am using a stretch double-knit fabric. I suggest something similar. If you use a knit that is too lightweight the puff of your sleeve won’t hold shape. HERE are some options. Make sure to check content and choose something that has at least 3% spandex. My fabric has 4% spandex. SUBSCRIBE TO MY CHANNEL so you can get an email the minute I upload and publish the tutorial. • OLD HOLLYWOOD DIY DRESS USING VINTAGE VOGUE

HI DARLINGS! Happy Tuesday. Okay, I have had this dress sewn and hanging in my closet for what seems to be months. I had been dying to photograph it so this week I decided it was time. I am obsessed with this dress, it’s a VOGUE VINTAGE 2193 there are few on ETSY  and it is such a great dress. Although the front is great the back is what really makes this dress superb! Its the perfect old Hollywood vibe dress so I kept it simple with gold earrings and a red lip. If you follow me on INSTAGRAM @MIMIGSTYLE you may have seen me post about the construction of this dress which was rather interesting and funny. SaveSave SaveSave SaveSave

  • MY FAVORITE DIY PANTS + PATTERN REVIEW S8389

HI DARLINGS! Happy Friday. I am in a bit of a rush this morning because I have a photoshoot to do but I had to post these DIY pants I made using SIMPLICITY 8389 and my current obsession… this H&M sweater. I love these pants and have already made them before in the maroon pleated velvet look I posted HERE. I plan to use this pattern lot, lol. Its fast, easy to fit and they look awesome. Check out the pattern review below. Pattern Description: #8389 View D Misses Pants with Length Variations. Pattern Sizing: I cut the 10 Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? I think so, well maybe a little bit, lol Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the shape of view D but I like my pants cropped more so I knew I would need to modify the length, these are really long and I am only 5′ 4″ Fabric Used: Cotton Striped Shirting Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I shortened the pattern by a lot and lengthened my crotch by 5/8″ I have a long torso and a big butt (LOL) so I often make this adjustment. Would you sew it again? YES! Would you recommend it to others? YES! SaveSave SaveSaveSaveSave

  • PLAID DRESS FALL LOOK

HI DARLINGS! Ok please don’t be upset that this dress is from H&M and that I bought it last winter so its no longer available and that I am just now getting around to wearing it, lol! Its a pretty simple shape so my DIY’ers can modify a pattern easily to get the look. I wore this with some black tights and these sky-high booties that I have had for so many years, I love them but don’t wear them often so they still look new. One of my favorite looks every fall is to wear short dresses with opaque tights and boots so you’ll see that look often over the next few months if you are new to my blog. Forever 21 has one HERE and Target has some cute plaid dresses HERE SaveSave

  • WOOL KNIT DRESS WITH CONTRASTING POCKETS, BELT AND SLEEVES

HI DARLINGS! I am wishing you all a wonderful Monday.  I had a good weekend, the best part was seeing my friend Christina on Sunday night for dinner and going to church, it was a great sermon and I left feeling empowered and thankful. Today I am rocking the dress from my SIMPLICITY PATTERN #8466. I love modifying even my own patterns lol. I made it in a wool knit blend and used a contrast textured knit for the pockets, sleeves, and belt. It’s a subtle element but adds a lot to the dress. You can see the texture in some of the images below. I also made buttonholes on the pockets and added gold buttons and also made myself a belt with gold D-rings. I wore nude shoes, gold earrings, and my Louis Vuitton sunglasses. I couldn’t find the contrast fabric online but HERE is the wool blend I used. SaveSave SaveSave SaveSave

I shortened the pants for a cropped look. The fabric is a pleated velvet from Michael Levine, I tried finding it online but had no luck. SaveSave SaveSave

  • DIY COLOR-BLOCKED DRESS

HI DARLINGS! Well,  I have good news and bad news. The good news is I did the tutorial on this dress which I posted about HERE, and it’s finished. YAY!! The bad news is it won’t be up until tomorrow morning because my new YOUTUBE posting schedule is now Wednesday and Saturdays. PLUS most of you are home on the weekends so you can get up tomorrow and get right to it.  I would show you how I made my DVF inspired dress The step-by-step video that goes up tomorrow is easy to follow and you can mix and match colors or prints however you want. This is the actual dress I do on camera for you so get ready with your supplies tonight. You need about 1 yard of each color or print. I used a knit fabric which is what I suggest in the video. For the record, the dress pattern is much longer than this I just shorten it to a mini length. SUBSCRIBE TO MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL!
