HI DARLINGS! Last week on my YOUTUBE CHANNEL I posted my favorite way to copy my t-shirts to create a pattern, you can see that video HERE or scroll down. This week I took that same tutorial and I created a NEW VIDEO on how to make an easy to wear t-shirt dress (video also below). HI DARLINGS! I am rocking both the jacket and the pants in this post from my recent grey suit using my latest FALL PATTERN #8749. I posted the jacket with jeans a black bootie HERE and now I decided to show you how I rocked it as a full suit. I also have a full SEW-ALONG for both the pants and the jacket. I am so in love with my own pattern it’s a bit silly, LOL I am currently working on a purple heavy linen one and I can’t wait to photograph it. I also plan to share a YOUTUBE video where I show you how to style the suit 3 different ways, I think it would be helpful to add videos on how to wear your sewn garments so you get the most use out of them, that sound good? HI DARLINGS! Happy Friday. I know that every time I launch a new pattern I say it’s my favorite yet but this one really is, lol. I knew I would be making my SIMPLICITY 8749 suit a bunch of times, it’s perfect and can be slightly modified for many looks. I am wearing just the jacket in this post but I will be posting the pants as a separate look and then both together. I also plan to make it in a yellow or pink soon. I didnt modify anything this time and I used a lightweigth grey wool which I just love so much. I got it at MICHAEL LEVINE. HI DARLINGS! Last month Chastidy and I had the most beautiful time filming for Hallmark’s “Put It Into Words ” Campaign. This was a fantastic experience we will both remember for years to come. Hallmark believes happiness and emotional connections are the antidotes for today’s societal tensions and I couldn’t agree more. When we care enough, we can change the world and a simple act like sending or receiving a Hallmark card – can make a big impact on people’s lives and bring some happiness. Chastidy, as many of you know, is my oldest daughter and I am so incredibly proud of her. When I had her at 16, I had no idea what I was going to do, and unfortunately, she was along for the ride. I had a lot of up’s and downs, and sadly she was also homeless with me when I was about 18 years old. I worked as best as I could to take care of her, but I was a kid myself. As I grew older, married, had more children Chastidy became like a second mom to her siblings. She was a great help to me, and we have always been very close because of it. I have tried to “make up” for the struggles we had together but I know it made us both very strong and very compassionate people. Lifting someone’s spirit, supporting someone in need or simply making someone’s day—unexpectedly—is as easy as sending a card.  It can have a huge impact on your relationships. It was so nice to see how much the card meant to her and although I tell her I love her all the time there is something extra special about reading it and knowing someone took time to express their feelings. When you take the time to acknowledge someone else and put your emotions into words, you make it possible for others to feel what you feel. Put it into words yourself. I have to head out to Palm Springs today but before I can get on the road I had to photograph new SIMPLICITY PATTERNS for Early Spring 2019 and I had to finish filming the last sew-along video for my NEW CURRENT SIMPLICITY PATTERNS then I have to meet Imani’s teacher, pack and then get going… UGH! lol. HI DARLINGS! Happy Humpday. The kids are gearing up for school this week so it has been busy busy busy around here. Bubby starts school tomorrow but Imani doesn’t go back until the 23rd, she is taking full advantage of every day she has left, lol. Are you guys ready for back to school? I will have a bit more time now to sew since it has been the last thing on my to-do list these days. I made this version of my SIMPLICITY 8690 pattern weeks ago but had forgotten to photograph it, lol. It’s the one you see in the SEW-ALONG for this pattern HERE. THIS WEEK ONLY! Ok, you might recognize this pattern because it’s my KATIE PDF PATTERN featured in ISSUE 03 of SEW SEW DEF Magazine. I made a few modifications which I mention below. I love this top and will be making it again in several colors. I was inspired by a pic I saw on Instagram and I knew I wanted to make it. PATTERN INFO & MODIFICATIONS This is an easy modification because THE KATIE PDF is a great shirt dress with classic shirt details like the collar band, collar and back yoke. I measured down how far I wanted the front to be and left the length of the back, I have a few pics below on the final shapes. I also slashed the back piece to create an even larger flare. Aside from the two changes you see below nothing else was altered on the pattern. STYLE IT DIY FASHION BOW (details below) | STEVE MADDEN HEELS | GUCCI SUNNIES MORE PROJECTS! I have been a  fun posting non-sewing projects and recently I did a tutorial on making some awesome FASHION PINS and one on modifying and updating your DENIM JACKET. HI DARLINGS! I know this is rare. Imani is my least camera friendly kid; she RARELY lets me photograph her which is terrible for me because I never get good pics of her without her hands covering her face LOL! My son, on the other hand, is always ready. So this blog post is a treat! So Imani asked me if I would make her M7757 which is another rare occurrence since the kids never ask me to sew anything for them, they rather go to the mall, smh. When she saw this pattern, she loved it and even picked out her fabric from JOANN. I told her I would make it, but she would have to let me photograph her, LOL!!!! A little bribery on my part. Details below on the pattern and modififcations. PATTERN & MODIFICATIONS The pattern is MCCALL 7577. I cut an XS and still had to take in the pants a bit, she wanted a narrower pant leg. The FABRIC is actually a knit although the pattern is intended for a woven, it’s an easy switch so it really made no difference. She is about 5’3″ so I took out  2″ of the length.

HI DARLINGS! Can we all agree that this jumpsuit is fantastic? (scroll down) Ok. I wasn’t that excited by the pattern envelope, but I knew if I used the right fabric it would look great. I had this tiny pleated poly in my stash from last Christmas and figured why not. Details and links on the pattern below. Fitting must be an issue. I was so wrong! This PDF PATTERN might be one of my fav pant patterns of all time. They were so easy, I made no fit adjustment outside of taking the CB in about 1/2″ You can get the PERSEPHONE PANT PATTERN HERE The fabric is from MOOD FABRICS and I love it!
