  • DIY RED SUIT USING SIMPLICITY #8749 AND BURDA #6358

HI DARLINGS! Happy Monday.  I am so excited to post this red suit look, lol. I know with Valentine’s Day approaching everyone is posting red looks but this is totally coincidental, lol. I made this a few weeks ago but just haven’t had time to photograph it, I love it so much and since I don’t wear anything I make out until I take pics in it I am happy I get to wear it now. The suit is a more casual look, I used my SIMPLICITY PATTERN #8749 for the jacket and decided on using my new favorite drop crotch pattern aka poppy pants pattern by BURDA. They are trousers with a pretty low crotch and they are so comfy to wear. I made and POSTED them before HERE. I also planned on wearing this suit with sneakers which will be a very cool look too. PATTERN AND LOOK DETAILS PATTERN: The jacket is my SIMPLICITY #8749 pattern and the pants are BURDA #6358 which is a very quick and easy pants pattern. I lined the inside with a hot pink lining and used a bias binding finish on my pants. (shown below) FABRIC: I used WOOL BLEND CREPE SUITING from THE FABRIC STORE and it’s dreamy! The LINING came from MOOD FABRICS. STYLE: Okay I wore a simple black turtleneck and my mid-calf slouchy black booties from STEVE MADDEN (similar ones HERE). The earrings are a fav from H&M. Every time I wear this pin on my jackets I get asked about it and I always laugh because I picked it up at JOANN FABRICS, they also have it in Silver.

  • DIY COLOR-BLOCKED JUMPSUIT USING MCCALL #7728

HI DARLINGS! Happy Thursday. I was thinking that I wasn’t going to post these pics because as I started photographing it started raining, lol I wasn’t able to get all the detail shots I usually add but I ain’t got no time to re-shoot so here you go, lol. I love this jumpsuit!! This look is so fun and that pattern was actually pretty simple, I have a few notes below. Also, I realized that I had not shared any of my “trying on dresses” pics here on the blog and since I want to share some of the wedding planning and events I thought I would share with you next week. I am not going to show the dress I designed but I will show some that I tried on and liked and some that I did not like and said “No to the dress” LOL. PATTERN INFO AND DETAILS PATTERN: MCCALL 7728  This pattern is really great and fun to color block and play with but just note that the top is not really wearable without having to add a small snap or closure. FABRIC: I used a wool suiting for the pants and silk for the top, it added a nice flow. STYLE: I wore my Christian Dior vintage sunnies and my nude heels from STEVE MADDEN (they are pretty old)

  • MY $19 ZARA OUTFIT OF THE DAY

HI DARLINGS! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I am getting ready for another crazy week before heading out of town and I need a vacation, lol. I have not had much time to sew for myself so I am a little bummed about that. I am however excited about my less than $20 outfit from ZARA. I love to shop but I hate paying full price for clothes especially because I know I can make them but sometimes it’s just too good to pass up like this $12 corduroy skirt and this $8 turtleneck I snagged during Zara’s big annual sale. I hope to be back with some DIY’s soon!

  • DIY BUTTON UP SHIRT AND A-LINE SKIRT

HI DARLINGS! I am surprised to have content that is not wedding related, lol because everything for the next three weeks is all wedding all the time. I went and picked up my fabric for my reception dress. I am not making my ceremony dress but I did design it, I did a video on my wedding dress shopping experience that you can watch on my YOUTUBE CHANNEL. For this look in today’s post, I wanted a safari-chic look, lol! Not really but that is how it turned out. This is one of my favorite BURDA #7136 button-up shirt pattern. The skirt is an out of print McCall pattern and I can’t remember the number but I am not home to look up it so I will post it on my INSTAGRAM.

  • MY DIY LITTLE BLUE DRESS USING SIMPLICITY 8635 & BUTTERICK 5878

HI DARLINGS! Well, I manage to get another DIY sewn before starting on my reception wedding dress. I am so excited to get that dressed finished and I am also making my moms dress so I have a ton to do. This dress, however, is one of the dresses in my summer plans, you can see some of that stuff on my INSTAGRAM. I did a mash-up of SIMPLICITY 8635 and BUTTERICK 5878 (OOP). I did the Simplicity version in my YELLOW COLLECTION. I loved it so much that I wanted to make another version so this time I used a different bottom and added a waistband. I used a gorgeous BLUE CREPE fabric from MOOD. I dressed it up with my STEVE MADDEN cork heels and an H&M necklace I got a few years back. Ok guys I am headed off to start sewing my reception dress, wish me luck!

  • CHIFFON PRINT SHIRTDRESS

HI DARLINGS! I wish this was a DIY but it’s not, I found this dress before I went to Denver in March at H&M and I love it. It’s cinched at the waist even without the belt and the chiffon overlay with the black lining is so nice. I was hoping they had a second colorway but this was it. I like the orange actually, it’s really nice. The shoes are my usual nude barely there’s that go with every single thing. My earrings are H&M too and so is my necklace. Alright, I am headed to run errands so I will see you on Monday. See you on INSTAGRAM! If you want to DIY THIS LOOK you could use NEW LOOK 6494 and great chiffon print like THIS, THIS or even THIS.

  • MY DIY REHEARSAL DINNER LOOK WITH #V9375

HI DARLINGS! It’s been so long since I blogged I almost forgot how to log in, lol! This is my rehearsal dinner look that I never got to wear. So obviously you guys know that for several months leading to the wedding we were beyond busy and focusing on meeting deadlines in our business and making sure the wedding went off without a hitch, and it did but we did not have a lot of time for blogging and recreational sewing. I did manage to finish my reception party dress in time which I will share later, we are waiting for our photographer to send us final images and our videographer to send us the video so we can share those too but until then I thought I would share this look. So VOGUE 9375 is for a more casual almost sporty look but since I always do what I want anyway I decided I wanted to make it using a gorgeous LACE I got at FABRIC.COM and it was even prettier when I got it and saw it in person. I love this look so much and if you watch the video below you will see me chatting about it! I didn’t end up wearing it simply because when we got to the hotel I was tired, didn’t feel like wearing it and instead put on a white lace dress I had brought with me that required no ironing, LOL! The nice thing about this two piece is I can wear them seprately and that is always nice.
