  • Monochromatic Look + Flared Mimi G Pants

Hi Darlings! Okay I am on my way to LA so today’s post is just about my awesome red pants and cool monochromatic look lol. These are made from my Simplicity Pattern #1283. The pattern is designed for double knits but you know I always design with options in mind. I knew when I designed these for Simplicity that I would be making them in a stretch woven too. I used a super stretch denim found HERE and I cut out the pattern one size larger than I normally would and just fit them as I went along. I knew I could always take them in to make them tighter but couldn’t add to them once cut, so the size larger assured I would be ok. I cut and sewed them exactly like I show you in the free Step by Step Video Tutorial HERE nothing changed except the fabric. I LOVE these pants and I will be making them in several colors of stretch denim and twill. If you have yet to pick up the pattern you can do so HERE. • The Stories Of My Life

For me it was most difficult because she is my first born and although you love all your kids abundantly I have shared more with her because she is my oldest. We would spend a lot of time together and not being able to do that at a moments notice takes some getting use to. Now that it’s been a few months since we have been separated I think we are starting to adjust a bit and have figured out ways to stay connected. When I downloaded the OneDay App I knew I had found a great way to make, send and receive thoughtful and fun stories to each other. Aside from it being so easy to use that my grandmother could figure it out (sorry grammy) it adds a nostalgic and magical touch to the videos we create in just a few clicks. It really is that easy! But what I liked most is that I can capture moments with my family that I can keep forever…even when my babies are no longer babies or want to marry Harry from One Direction. The first thing I did was text my daughter to tell her about the app and a few minutes later I started getting videos from her! I cant tell you how happy it makes me to hear her voice and see her little face. I can also tell she hasn’t lost her sense of humor LOL! My youngest babes jumped right on board, they are both a bunch of hams (I wonder where they get that from) and love being on camera so we picked some stories from the awesome list in the OneDay App they  and started capturing. My youngest daughter, Imani is such a cutie pie and I can see how quickly she is growing (UGH) that I just want to get as much of her on camera so I never forget her obsession with one direction, or my sons hilarious funny face and silly dances, or that fact that he also knows she is obsessed with Harry….. I guess when I started asking the questions I didn’t realize how much they miss Chastidy too! She seemed to come up in several videos and that made me happy, it showed what an impact she has had on them as their big sister. I figured while I had them on camera I better ask some good questions, like who they think they will marry or what they want to do with their lives….It’s great seeing the difference between my boy and my girl. Did he say he wants to marry someone like his big sister! I melted and immediately shared the video with her. I also found it most useful when sitting at a restaurant enjoying a meal. I know my family is silly but sometimes they make me laugh until my stomach hurts because you never know what they are going to say. Take for example what my hubby said when I asked him why God created the earth…. I then thought it would be super awesome to catch him in his office and ask him to do some impersonations and tell me a joke. The man never refuses camera time but I should have know better….He cracks himself up!!! I gotta tell you that every moment I spend with him reminds me of why I love him so much. We just celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary and if I could go back and marry him again I would…except this time we would do it in a church with flowers, a beautiful dress, and guests… and not at the court house in a green sweater and black capri pants with two witness in cargo shorts and t-shirts (yes, we must redo that moment) but it was one of the best days of our lives! OneDay is really one of the coolest apps I have ever downloaded and because it’s so easy to use and share the kids wanted to get in on the fun. They downloaded the app and turn the tables on us and each other…. I of course made sure to use it for my own sneaky agenda and find out what they wanted for Christmas. Note to self… Find out what a trick board is, find a robot puppy (not ready for real pets) and pick up that model toy Porsche! Time goes by so fast and I personally don’t want to miss a beat. I cherish every moment I can with my family and having these life stories lets me relive those moments over and over again. Thanks OneDay for making a truly magical app. If you don’t download a single app all year download THIS ONE, I promise you will love it. • DIY Chevron Dress OOTD

Hi Darlings, Today I am prepping for my annual Soup & Wine Party! I love having these causal get togethers during the holidays. Last year I did it for my birthday and my family thought I was nuts, LOL “Soup and Wine?” but I knew it would be a hit and it was! Let me tell you people love soup and they love bread, add a little wine to the experience on a chilly winter night, and you have a winner. The prep is pretty easy since making the one pot soups can be done the night before and then warmed when ready to serve. Last year we had Corn & Cheese Chowder, Sherried Tomato, and Chicken & Noodle all from The Pioneer Woman, Ree Drummond….don’t tell her this but I sorta kinda love her so much! I have never tried anything of hers that I did not love. This year I am still doing the Corn Chowder (because it is DIVINE) and the Tomato (because duh! it’s yummy) but I am going to introduce a new soup for #3. Everyone loves the casual feel and warmness that comes from the soup and wine, that it makes for an amazing evening. I will share pics and recipes after the party. I also have a really quick and easy dessert that we will be making. Today’s look is an oldie but goodie. I love this fabric so much but was never able to find any more of it so I have held on to this one. I normally give away anything I made the previous season, unless the fabric is not available, I REALLY love it, or if it’s one of my couture pieces…Other than that I bag it up and give it away to local charities or the girls at my old home church. The links to anything still available online are below including the link to my MUST MAKE FALL DRESS TUTORIAL which is just what you need if you want to make the dress I am wearing. It’s super simple and made to fit your body, no matter your size. OH!!! Before I forget if you have yet to enter the SHOE CARNIVAL GIVEAWAY to win a $50 GIFTCARD you should head over right now!! it ends tomorrow so CLICK HERE DIY Dress Tutorial HERE / Coach Bag (old) / Gap Denim Jacket (option I love) HERE / F21 Earrings (old) /Steve Madden Booties (option I love) HERE

Painters, graffiti artists, writers, illustrators, tattooists and many more original creators are part of the BucketFeet Artist Network, 10,000+ artists in more than 50 countries!! I know for me the idea of drawing on my shoes started when I was in middle school. I would doodle on my sneakers during class and even thought it didn’t make my mom very happy, lol to me it seemed like a totally normal thing to do. Now I can amazing artist from around the world doing the drawing. I love the idea of having artwork on my feet and the fact that they are REALLY comfy adds to the charm. I don’t wear sneakers as often as I do my heels so when I do they must be fabulous, these are! I am a sucker for jeans and t-shirts and during the weekends that seems to be my uniform, but I have to have a little glam even in my casual weekend looks so here are two looks I love to wear and pair with my BucketFeet! • My 3 Essential Tips When Buying A New Home

Hi Darlings, Making the decision to relocate from the West Coast to Mid West was a huge decision, but deciding to buy a new home in another state made that decision even more complicated. We had been spending so much time flying to the other coast that it just made sense to be closer to our families and where we conducted most of our business. When we decided on Nebraska we began making a list of all the things we would need to do in order to make this process as stress free as possible. Tip #1 Make a list of all the things you want and don’t want in your new home. There are so many things that go into the purchase of a home that I felt a bit overwhelmed, so I made a list. Having my list handy gave me a clear idea of what I wanted and what I knew were deal breakers. I started by looking online for homes that I thought fit our family and could possibly want to purchase. As you all know I am a “do it yourself” kinda girl so I immediately went online and started pulling up homes to show the hubby. Soon after I started I realized I was going to need help! Not only was it difficult to look for a home that we loved but being on the West Coast searching in the Midwest was much harder than I thought it would be. Tip #2  Know your limitations and hire a professional. The next call we made was to a real estate agent that was recommended to us by friends. I had never worked with a realtor before so this was a new experience for me, now I realize it was the best decision we made. Having experts on hand to help us through the process of purchasing a home was crucial. Once we got on the phone with the real estate agent and went through our list of “we need 5 bedrooms, a finished basement, a deck, we want to live on the golf course, the schools must be great, there has to be a mall near by” (LOL, okay I didn’t tell him that but I thought it) I felt as if now there was someone better qualified to look for what we needed. After just a few days our realtor had sent over homes for us to look.. Once we had set up the viewings we booked our tickets and flew in for the weekend. Tip #3 Take time to read the contracts and don’t be afraid to ask questions if you don’t understand something.  It took us a just a few days to narrow down the homes to our first choice and then an entire new list of experts were needed.  There was so much to read and sign that after going through inspections, paperwork, negotiations, insurance, contractors, etc. we were so thankful that we had the right people on hand to get us through each new step. I made sure to ask questions if I didn’t understand something I was reading or just needed a little more clarity. The day we moved into our new home was a day we will never forget, and I am so glad we had the foresight to get the help we needed from qualified professionals.  We could not be happier! *This post was sponsored by StateFarm* #HouseHunting #StateFarm
