MATTRESS SHOPPING 101: MY NEW BED!
Hi Darlings! Since I began collaborating with Sleep Number® I have learned so much about my health in relation to getting better sleep. I have tested different sleeping habits, I have documented a 30 day “Get better sleep” challenge and now after learning so much about the Sleep Number® beds (I could probably be a sales rep at this point) I am doing it… I am getting myself a new mattress (can you hear me rejoicing?)
So let’s be honest here, I had to really think about this because just like any large purchase you make for your home you know that it’s an investment and it’s going to be with you for a long time so you MUST make the right choice.
Buying a mattress is a big deal as it should be, you are going to be spending a lot of time on that mattress and you want that time to be restful and good for your mind and body. I truly believe sleep drives my overall health and wellbeing and we all know that better sleep ensures better overall health. Quality sleep is as important as a healthy diet and exercise!
Having had so much one on one time with the awesome sales rep at my local store I narrowed my choices down to the m7 and the i8.
You can do all the online research you want on a mattress but nothing beats laying on it, so here a few tips when shopping for a new mattress.
Wear comfy clothes… if I could have shown up in my jammies I would have, LOL!
Lay down on each and every mattress you are considering. Turn over and lay the way you normally do when falling asleep.
Make sure you tell your sales rep what you DON’T like about your current mattress.
If you have to consider a partner or spouse when purchasing, make sure they come with you!
I currently have a memory foam mattress so I assumed I was going to naturally pick the m7, but after laying on both and reading though the features I decided the i8 was exactly what I was looking for and I couldn’t get off the bed…as you can see.
HERE is a recent survey that has really interesting stats about how much sleep we actually get…they even have a “by state” breakdown.
The i8 has a 13” duvet style pillow top with a temperature balancing surface that absorbs excess heat. I can’t wait to sleep on that baby because I am always cold when I get in bed and then wake up in the middle of the night because I am hot and sweaty.
I can’t wait for my Sleep Number® mattress to arrive. I will make sure to update you soon! To find a Sleep Number store near you CLICK HERE
