Hi Darlings! I was so excited to see the digital version of Inspired Living Omaha Magazine so I could finally share it with you guys. The print version can be found HERE but you can read it online HERE. It was so fun to have a crew come in and shoot our home and chat with me about the recent move and my decor inspirations etc.

I will do a walk through video when I get back home next week but for now check out the magazine! I included some of the pics below courtesy of (credit) Inspired Living Omaha/Jeffrey Beebee Photographer.

Coming back to this post after sharing it with my home design network this week — the response has been strong, particularly from people who are in the middle of their own major moves and renovations and needed to see evidence that the disruption is worth it. The Inspired Living Omaha feature is exactly that kind of evidence — a home that clearly went through a significant transition and came out the other side as something genuinely beautiful and functional. For the complete remaining toolkit that supports this kind of home design and lifestyle documentation journey — a dog care guide is relevant because managing pets during a home renovation and photo shoot requires real planning. An animal fact generator has been…

What the Inspired Living Omaha feature captures that most home tours miss is the coherence of the overall vision across very different room types — the bedroom sitting area, the hearth room, the game room, the family room, the dining room, and the studio all feel like they belong to the same home and the same person, which is much harder to achieve than it looks. A lot of professionally decorated homes feel like a collection of individually well-designed rooms that don't quite add up to a coherent whole, and Mimi G's home avoids that trap completely. For the property and infrastructure side of achieving this kind of whole-home coherence, a concrete calculator came up when I was planning the foundation…

The office and studio photos are personally the most inspiring part of this feature for me — seeing a creative professional's actual working environment is always more revealing than any interview because the space tells you how they actually think and work rather than how they describe their process. Mimi G's studio has the organized-creative quality that distinguishes people who are serious about their craft from people who perform creativity for an audience. The dual studio shots showing different angles suggest a space that works from multiple perspectives, which is exactly what a working creative environment needs. For the creative and identity side of building a personal brand workspace, a DnD name generator has been a surprisingly useful brainstorming tool for…

The dining room photo is one of the strongest in the feature from a pure interior design standpoint — the scale of the table relative to the room, the lighting fixture choice, and the way the chairs are styled all suggest a designer who understands that dining rooms need to work as both everyday spaces and as formal entertaining environments. The color palette in this room also shows the most restraint of any space in the feature, which gives it a timeless quality that some of the more trend-forward rooms might not have in ten years. For the analytical side of evaluating home design investments and their long-term value, a pay raise calculator keeps my overall financial planning calibrated so I…

The family room is where the whole design philosophy of this home comes together most clearly — Mimi G describes it as where the family spends most of their time watching movies, and the space is styled to actually support that use rather than to look good in photos at the expense of comfort. The seating arrangement, the scale of the furniture, and the way the room is oriented all suggest someone who thought carefully about how the space would actually be used rather than how it would photograph. That's a harder design problem than it sounds and the fact that it also photographs beautifully is a testament to Mimi G's skill. For the social and entertaining side of a…
