DIY TIE FRONT TOP & WRAP SKIRT USING VOGUE & SIMPLICITY PATTERNS

HI DARLINGS! I love this outfit so much. The end. LOL! This DIY  tie-top pattern from SIMPLICITY is so fast to make and so fun to wear. I paired the top with a DIY skirt which is a VOGUE dress pattern I just decided to make as skirt instead. More details about the patterns, modifications, and fabrics below.

DIY TIE TOP PATTERN INFO & MODIFICATIONS

This is SIMPLICITY 5555 and I love this pattern. First, it’s a vintage pattern they brought back and second; it sews up so fast. I lined it because my knit was pretty thin and also because its cleaner than just turning under the seam allowance. I think I was done with the top in 20 minutes, lol. I used a slub knit from my stash.

The skirt is actually VOGUE 9313 a dress pattern. I had this great honeycomb knit in my stash that has one yellow stripe, I knew I was going to make a skirt because I only had just over a yard of it. I decided to use the bottom portion of the Vogue pattern and then use the strip for the front panel. I had just enough to cut the front bands out of yellow which worked out really cool. This fabric came from Michael Levine I think but I have had it for some time now so I am not positive.
