MIMI G JEANS SEW-ALONG INTRO

HI DARLINGS! I am so ready to start this sew-along using my MIMI G FOR SIMPLICITY PATTERN #8222. I know so many of you who have been afraid of sewing your own jeans but don’t you worry I am here to help! I designed these jeans for women who have curves and or who always find that jeans leave you with a gap in the back of your pants at the waist. Now you can make some jeans that will fit and won’t look “home made”

I am going to be posting ONCE a week for 5 WEEKS. Each week we will tackle a portion of the pattern and sewing until we are all done and you have a pair of jeans that fit. Okay… now there are a few things that make your jeans look professional so I am going to list the items you need to have on hand for the first part of the sew-along next week.

MIMI G PATTERN: Simplicity Pattern #8222 (Joann, Walmart, Hobby Lobby)
FABRIC: You will need some Stretch Denim Fabric (I made mine with a 3% stretch denim fabric) you can find options below. I suggest using at least 3% but 5% would be even better. You can also use a STRETCH WOVEN and you can use STRETCH COTTON which has about 5% lycra. Here are some options for denim. OPTION 1, OPTION 2 (option #2 has a lot of prints and solids that have 5% lycra.
NEEDLE: Denim Needles
THREAD: Jeans Thread (I prefer Gutxrmann) and All Purpose Thread
JEAN BUTTON: Waist Button (you can find these at Joann, Walmart, Hobby Lobby, Michaels)
JEAN RIVETS: Rivets (pick your finish)
JEANS ZIPPER: Metal Zipper
