DIY SIDE CUT OUT DRESS USING MCCALLS #8175
HI DARLINGS! I have been MIA from the blog for a while. There has been a lot going on recently and so I haven’t had much time to create. I took a breather over the past week to sew a dress I have had my eye on, McCalls #8175 which half the sewing community has made already, LOL!
PATTERN THOUGHTS
This is a relatively easy pattern, the fitting is easy because you can just take in the side seams if you need to. I wasn’t sure if I would need to do my standard sway back adjustment but the skirt sits in the perfect spot so I didn’t need to do anything. I ended up taking the side seam in a bit at the waist and on the bodice about 1/2′ for a snug fit but aside from that it was pretty straight forward. I also decided to use to gold buttons instead of the hook and eye.
FABRIC CHOICE
My fabric is of course from MELANATED FABRICS and it is gorgeous! This is our PALM LEAF PRINT, I used the Pink and Olive colorway but we also have it in a RUST & MINT colorway.
Hi! I purchased the McCall's 8175 pattern and wondering what fabric did you use when you made it?
