HI DARLINGS! I am back in the office after the most amazing week at RELENTLESS where I had the opportunity to speak and meet amazing folks. I am so pumped and ready to get some cool stuff done for you guys. This is the dress I wore to speak at the event this past Thursday. I have made it before and posted it HERE.

Details on the pattern, fabric and any modifications below. This is the first look of my #DIYREDWHITEBLUECOLLECTION

DIY DRESS PATTERN INFO & MODIFICATIONS

This is BUTTERICK 6543  . I knew that I was going to make this dress again and when I got a hold of this red stretch sateen I knew it would be perfect. I didn’t make any modifications outside of adding the flounce at the hem which I did in the first version I made linked above. The fabric is from LOWPRICEFABRIC.COM and it feels great. It has a good recovery and is a medium weight.

Sewing my own clothes usually makes me much pickier about ready-made fashion, especially when fit and fabric have to justify the price instead of just looking good in a photo. I can enjoy style inspiration for a while, but the buying decision gets a lot more practical once I picture the item in daily use. That was when halara reviews gave me a better sense of what the experience looked like beyond polished product images. I do not expect every opinion to match mine, but reading ordinary feedback helps me avoid choosing something just because the presentation is strong for five minutes.
