DIY CHEVRON STRIPED DRESS USING VOGUE #1653

learn to sew

HI DARLINGS! Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I am getting ready to start all my prepping. I am wishing you the best most amazing time with friends and family. I wanted to share two things:

  1. I have a SEWING PLANS video on my YOUTUBE CHANNEL

  2. This is my Thanksgiving look!

This pattern is from my recent PATTERN HAUL VIDEO and the fabric I have had for some time. I wasn’t sure what to do with it until I saw this VOGUE 1653 PATTERN. It is a very fast sew! Even cutting the fabric to achieve the chevron look didn’t take long at all and sewing it up was quick and easy. I did, however, add elastic to the waist because the pattern has you leave it loose and cinch it with a tie belt. I did not care for that because if I want to wear it without the tie belt it will look super frumpy.

The only other thing I need to say about this pattern is that the front cut is very low so if you don’t want to show as much skin you can sew up the CF a bit more.

THE LOOK

I kept this look super simple because the stripes are a bit much alone, lol I wore these great little booties from STEVE MADDEN from several years back.
